Counselling can help when life feels heavy, confusing or difficult to manage on your own. You might be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, worry or stress
  • Low mood or feeling overwhelmed
  • Trauma or difficult past experiences
  • Low self‑esteem or confidence
  • A challenging life transition
  • Feeling stuck, lost or unsure of yourself

Whether you know exactly what you want to talk about, or you’re finding it hard to put things into words, we can explore this together.

Counselling for Young People (11+)

Growing up isn’t easy. Young people often face pressures at school, at home and within friendships — and sometimes it can feel like too much to carry alone.

I offer counselling for young people who may be:

  • Feeling anxious, stressed or withdrawn
  • Struggling with emotions or confidence
  • Finding school or friendships difficult
  • Dealing with family changes or past experiences

Sessions provide a safe, confidential and non‑judgemental space where young people can talk openly and feel listened to. I work in a neuro‑affirming and trauma‑informed way, adapting sessions to suit each individual.

My Approach

I work in a person‑centred, trauma‑informed way, meaning:

  • You are listened to without judgement
  • Sessions move at your pace
  • I support you to find your own understanding and solutions

I also integrate CBT techniques where these feel helpful. Counselling isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about gaining insight, understanding patterns, and creating meaningful change over time.

Counselling for Young People

For young people (11+), sessions are adapted to suit their age, needs and communication style. This might include talking, creative approaches, or simply having space to think and reflect.

Confidentiality is respected, while keeping the young person’s wellbeing at the heart of the work. I am always happy to talk with parents or carers to explain the process and answer questions.

What to Expect

A free 30‑minute introductory call or meeting

  • Weekly 50‑minute sessions
  • Short‑term or longer‑term counselling available
  • A confidential, supportive and respectful environment

Starting counselling can feel daunting — I’ll do my best to help you feel at ease from the very first contact.

If You’re Feeling Unsure

It’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure about starting counselling. Many people worry about:

  • Not knowing what to say
  • Feeling emotional
  • Being judged

My aim is to create a warm, safe and supportive environment where you can simply be yourself.

If you’d like to take the next step or even ask any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

Your First Session

Your first counselling session is a space to begin gently exploring what’s going on for you.

We might talk about:

  • What has prompted you to seek counselling
  • Your current challenges or concerns
  • Any relevant background that feels important to share

There’s no right or wrong way to use this time. You don’t need to have everything figured out, and you don’t need to know what to say — we can take things at your pace.

Ongoing Sessions

Sessions usually take place weekly and last 50 minutes. Counselling can be short‑term or longer‑term, depending on what feels right for you.

My role is not to tell you what to do, but to:

  • Listen with care and without judgement
  • Help you understand your thoughts, feelings and patterns
  • Support you to make sense of your experiences
  • Help you find your own way forward

Sometimes counselling can feel challenging, particularly when exploring difficult experiences. This is a normal part of the process, and we will always move at a pace that feels manageable for you.
