Person-Centred Counselling in Cowfold, Horsham, West Sussex or online

Welcome

Counselling, providing a confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Are you feeling stuck, unhappy in life or unfulfilled. Do you need time and space to voice whats on your mind, the challenges you're facing or the emotional weight you're carrying?

Counselling can help you discover who you are, what you want and how to get there!

My name is Lisa and I work with young people and adults to help navigate life’s challenges.

I will provide you with a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to talk allowing you to explore your thoughts and feelings so you can develop a better understanding of yourself.

By developing this understanding of yourself, it is possible to move forwards making meaningful changes.

By working in whats called a Person-Centred way, I will try to understand from your perspective, I'll walk alongside you and support you to find your own solutions working to identify re-occurring patterns that may not be in your awareness and explore these together raising your own internal compass.

We all hold the tools we need to flourish however, sometimes we need support to locate these to move forwards.

I offer a confidential, warm, empathic space that is non-judgemental and safe therapeutic space for whatever you choose to bring to counselling. This builds the foundations to support you through the process without judgement and empower you to discover solutions in a therapeutic environment.

If you haven't reached out for counselling before, I understand the process can feel quite daunting, this is why I offer a free introduction meeting or call to try to ease some of the feelings around this.

Together we will learn about what works to support you.

The First Step

It is a big and unnerving step to contact a counsellor - not knowing what to expect, or how it will be.

I offer a 30 minute introductory session for free, hopefully putting you at ease. It is a chance to see if you feel I am the right person for you.

In this "meet and greet" we will “get to know each other” where you can tell me about want you want achieve in counselling and explore what you'd like to have help with, I will explain how I will work with you. I also welcome questions back.

After this call, I will email you a copy of the counselling contract which outlines both our parts in the therapeutic relationship.

If you're happy after this we can then set up our first session.

Our first full Session

This first counselling session is an opportunity to see if I am the right therapist for you, to get a feeling for how I work. I will ask you a number of questions.

We can discuss the contract and any queries you have around this and we will then begin to discuss further what is happening in your world.

I believe you are the expert in your world so will encourage you to talk to me about family/education/work/relationships to gain a broader picture.
